The opening ceremony will be held by the frame drummers from The Hague, who will play different rhythms. A frame drum is an old percussion instrument, thay was played by women during ceremonies back in the day. Everyone who is present at the opening ceremony is invited to make a big circle around the labyrinth. Workshop singing mantra in a circle

Laura creates music originating from various cultures, dedicated to peace and love. She has been presiding music nights for many years and at Peace in the Park festival you are welcome to join in her singing circle!Deze afbeelding heeft een leeg alt-attribuut; de bestandsnaam is image-15.png Everyone has his or her own voice. You don’t need experience to participate. You don’t even have to be able to sing or know the lyrics to join in. You’re free to just listen. The singing circle is about experiencing the music together, to focus your attention and to be in the moment. These singing circle songs are being sang for many decades all over the world. They open a door to your inner self and your higher conciousness. It is practically a form of meditation. Singing together has the purpose of being together in the energy and vibration of the song and to share in the joy of the here and now. By Laura van de Craats.

Workshop Warrior Dance (English)

Eva is originally from Czech Republic. She is a theatre producer, dance teacher, martial arts teacher and rituals techer and creates new dance concepts. At Peace in the Park festival, she will teach and demonstrate her ‘Warrior Dance’.Deze afbeelding heeft een leeg alt-attribuut; de bestandsnaam is image-16.png The workshop combines the so called ‘5 rhythm dance’ with martial arts. Dance and martial arts may sound contradictive. However, they have a lot in common: both are about the conscious energy that comes from within. The performance reflects the inner journey that we all experience, both in our daily lives and in many stages of our existence. When do you fight like a warrior and when do you surrender to the path of your existence? Where lies the point of your inner calm and peace? It is all in your own mind. Workshop Acroyoga

Marco creates an environment of trust, excitement and playfulness. With his experience in coaching, improvising theater and Capoeira, he teaches you to explore new movements and to work together. There is a focus on discovering your own way to increase your confidence and have fun while doing this.

In 2014, Marco discovered that acroyoga is his kind of yoga, which he likes to share with everyone. In 2018 he obtained his teacher diploma in Barcelona.

At Peace in the Park festival you will experience what it is like to be supported by the "base". From here you take all kinds of different dynamic and acrobatic positions. It doesn't matter if you don't have a specific background. You don't have to be strong or flexible for acro yoga. It is a challenge to trust and allow someone else to work with you.

You will get familiar with your own breathing and will learn how to control it.Relaxation is experienced through focussing your attention and using your imagination. These practices are a treat for your body and mind.

Shanti Silos is a storyteller in the form of: poet, painter, writer, filmmaker and an international speaker. She is also an entrepreneur and life & business coach. She he has been passionately serving those desiring to lead a heart centers life. She inspires others to go within, stand in their power, take action and create a (love)life reflective of their greatest dreams and ambitions.

Every hour: introduction and meditation
A brief introduction will give you food for thought, mostly to step out of your own comfort zone and see the bigger picture of yourself. More space, openness and stillness.. who doesn’t want that!? After the introduction there is a quided meditation.

Pure thinking (English)
Each of us has a beautiful internal landscape of love, peace and happiness. Yet it often becomes hidden in today's world, when we feel driven to act in ways that contravene our innermost nature. Our self-esteem, and ability to love, both suffer as a result. Meditation can help us break free from this bondage. 1.30 - 2.15 pm. Location 8.

Surprise dialogue (English)

Inspired by a poem, you will share personal experiences with strangers or acquaintances in groups of 2 to 3 people. The poems are very accessible and are a slice of life. So are the questions that you will receive.

One of the best compliments that we received after the dialogues, was that two best friends used all the surprise dialogue cards to get to know each other in a very different way.

The surprise dialogue cards are created especially for Peace in the Park festival. Do you want to be surprised by the cards? Renate, Heleen and Wendy from Dialogue The Hague are happy to welcome you. Surprise dialogues, throughout the day from 1.00 - 4.00 pm. Location 7.

VirtueScope (English)

During the VirtueScope you choose a number of cards (blindly). The cards will point out different positive qualities. These are personal qualities that you can pay more attention to in order to get rid of the obstacles in your life. Sometimes they can still be surprising!

Every hour there will be an interview with different people who invest their time and energy to shape peace. Where people work together and live together, they can make a difference when it comes to ambiance and making connections. Not only in the lives of others but also in their own lives. Below you'll find the English spoken programme.

Interview: Conscious change to find lasting peace (English)

 The mind is a powerful tool and according to the thoughts we habitually hold in it, that becomes our experience of life.  When we create positive thoughts and pure feelings, we experience peace and bring more peace to those around us, too.

In these complex times, our thoughts are often fragmented, pulling us in different directions, and our health and relationships may suffer as a result.  

In this session we will explore how to overcome these tendencies, and find more harmonious ways of living.   Discoveries at the frontiers of science are illuminating the importance of regaining an awareness of the inner being, taking us into territory previously only accessed through mystical experience.

Neville Hodgkinson is a former science and medical correspondent with UK newspapers who has lived and worked at the Global Retreat Centre, Oxford, UK, for many years. He brings together some of the most exciting discoveries from consciousness research and brain science, showing how we can rewire our thinking as well as change our deepest dispositions to become happier and more open human beings. Neville has an honest and realistic view of the struggles and triumphs of life and will share on why a spiritual outlook is needed to support and empower us during life’s ups and downs. The interview will also draw on his experience as a journalist, author, father, and long-term meditator.

Labyrinth

Join the workshops and walk the labyrinth at the Palace Gardens (‘Paleistuinen) in The Hague. By Marion Kuipéri from Space for Rituals (‘Ruimte voor Rituelen’).

A labyrinth is an age-old symbol that indicates the way to your inner self. It is used in many cultures, mostly spiritually. In the cathedral of Chartres for example, it was part of the inauguration of monks. The labyrinth consists, unlike a maze, of one continuous path that eventually leads to a center. The labyrinth can be used meditatively for the completion of a certain period in your life, or can be part of a ritual or celebration. Also, a labyrinth can be walked as a way to find inner peace at the end of your life. On September 22nd the labyrinth can be walked to experience inner peace.
